As a member of Mount Brenton, you have become part of a tradition that emphasizes joy in the game, consideration for playing partners, and respect for the golf course at home or away. The Mount Brenton Golf Course is proud of its Junior Golf Program and its participants. The exemplary conduct of Mount Brenton Juniors is well known throughout Zone 6. Juniors, who participate in the program, learn many skills besides golf. Behaviour, etiquette, and manners are an important part of the golf game.

Throughout the season, Juniors will be asked to help at various functions around the club. These range from scoring for major events to selling chances to win a golf ball at some Saturday tournaments. Parents may be enlisted from time to time to provide transportation.

Objectives of the Program

The objectives of the junior golf program are to teach some of the game’s history and traditions, rules of the game, expected etiquette and potential values. We will provide organized, competitive experiences in which winning assumes a sensible perspective. Our junior program will encourage the development of social skills and friendships and expose our juniors to the positive values that golfing situations can provide: honesty, courage, fairness, empathy, responsibility, and appreciation. These juniors will have the opportunity to grow close to and learn from capable adults and will play golf for the sake of playing, not always for an award or title. Most importantly, the golfing experience will be fun.
